2008
Just finished taping an interview for The Matinee Idol Collection - ten films - in Los Angeles.
January 24, 2008 is the day I will be attending and speaking about Nightmare Alley, a brand new print, at the Dryden Theatre. And, for two weeks before the film, I will also be displaying some of my vast, vast collection of film memorabilia which goes back to my childhood days. If you pass by me on the street holding a tin cup in my hand, when you see my collection, you'll understand why. Addendum: The big display consisted of 9 items: a straight razor, a contract, a couple of photos, stills, a paper doll, a signed book, a movie magazine - but people really seemed to enjoy it.
Two new books in the works - one as a ghostwriter and one of my own - details to follow.
Michael Rademacher Productions, in association with American Cinematheque, will be hosting a two-night film tribute at the Egyptian Theatre for Tyrone Power to commemorate the 50th year of his death. This will be in conjunction with the annual memorial service. Details are being worked out but there is going to be family and celebrity involvement, a memorabilia display and a reception. Working with producer/writer Bryan Cooper, we are also organizing tributes in Cincinnati and New York. Addendum: This thing is now totally out of control - it's three nights, five movies and bigger than the premier of Gone With the Wind in Atlanta in 1939.
And, in the words of Marlon Brando, STELLAAAAAAAAA (see below)
